Meet Heather, founder of The Raptor Den
Heather has always been a fierce advocate for children in the foster care system as well as parents navigating the adoption process. She strongly believes in building strong, vibrant communities that can support everyone no matter what they’re dealing with.
But as Heather juggled a career in advocacy and case work, raising three adopted children with complex developmental disorders, and an enormous amount of volunteer work, she felt the stress start to build. She looked for various hobbies to help cope with the anxiety and pressure that comes with leading through ferocity.
Always a fan of creative pursuits, Heather picked up craftier hobbies like sewing, embroidery, cake decorating, quilting, vinyl work, and eventually laser engraving. She approached each hobby with the same intense curiosity and desire to learn as she approached motherhood and her work.
So what started out as a hobby and way to relieve stress has now grown into a full-time business venture for Heather. She recently opened up her first commercial space for The Raptor Den in Tallahassee, FL.
