A collaboration with Jack Hill of Copperhead 347

Jack Hill of Copperhead 347 is in the National Guard and regularly volunteers – alongside his Momma Copper – with Clear Path NE to help train service dogs so that they can support a veteran and create those cherished bonds we all crave.

Jack and Momma Copper have seen firsthand how needed these programs are and work hard to help support them. Service dogs don’t just help our veterans, they help our families and communities heal too by creating a safe space where someone can manage big emotions and spend quality time with friends and loved ones.

We’re excited to be working with them to help veterans by supporting the Service Dog Program and Clear Path NE.

What are the 3 Holiday Wishes?

A Warm Hearth Safe At Home

Many veterans yearn for the comfort and safety of being at home – but especially during the holidays for a time to reconnect and find peace with loved ones.

Holiday Hugs & Peaceful Hearts

Veterans often hope for a world filled with peace and cheer, wishing for harmony and joy not just in their own lives but for everyone.

Cherished Bonds & Timeless Love

The enduring love and cherished bonds that veterans seek are significantly enhanced by the companionship and support of service dogs, who provide a unique and steadfast source of comfort and connection.

PTSD, TBI, and MST affect thousands of veterans per year

Veterans who experience trauma of any kind during their service are at risk of developing serious cognitive and behavioral issues when they return home, including sleep disorders, mood changes, reckless behavior, substance use, and more. As a veteran struggles to regulate their emotions and behavior after coming home, they experience issues with their relationships with family, friends, and members of their community.

The rifts that form can also cause substance abuse disorders, unemployment, homelessness, and chronic health issues. All of this inevitably leads to strong feelings of worthlessness and isolation – two things that are serious predictors of suicide.

Clear Path NE works hard to help veterans reintegrate into their communities with their Service Dog Program

Relaxing and slowing down

By learning to relax and move slowly with their service dogs, veterans not only improve communication with their canine companions, but also gain valuable skills in assessing situations and responding appropriately in their everyday lives.

Bringing the family closer together

Service dogs aren’t just amazing companions for veterans. They can help bring families closer with more time together and help veterans in their daily work and social interactions, making everyday life smoother and more joyful.

Tying veterans back into community

A service dog with a veteran at work and in the community can alert them to symptoms, improve work productivity, and encourage more involvement while helping to spread the word about the Service Dog Program to other veterans.
